A self-taught actor from Salford, Declan went from unpaid shorts to a festival-circuit favourite in eighteen months. His coiled, watchful style has drawn comparisons to early Tom Hardy — though he insists the real influence is his grandfather, a shop steward who "never raised his voice once". He still works two days a week as a joiner.
